Federal Skilled Worker Program

Canada has a great need for skilled foreign professionals. Thousands of those who immigrate to Canada each year are from this category, as the Canadian government can accept an application for permanent resident status from workers who have the skills required in order to succeed in Canada. A Federal Skilled Worker application is assessed based on the ability of an immigrant to become economically established when they immigrate to Canada. Read more

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Temporary foreign workers and international graduates who meet certain conditions can apply to become permanent residents of Canada. If you are accepted by Citizenship and Immigration under this immigration program, you will automatically become a permanent resident of Canada. As a permanent resident you will receive access to social services, and can live, work or study freely. Permanent residents can eventually apply for Canadian citizenship once they have fulfilled certain residency requirements. Read more

Spousal Sponsorship

Processing for the sponsorship of spouses is relatively fast. Applicants in Canada or outside Canada can apply for spousal sponsorship. A Spousal Sponsorship application is a two-step process. The first step entails processing by the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga, where the eligibility of the sponsor is assessed. The application is then transferred to a Canadian visa office responsible for applications in the spouse, common law or conjugal partners' country of citizenship or permanent residence, where officers assess the genuineness of the spousal relationship and the admissibility of the applicant. Quebec Skilled Worker Program

The Quebec Skilled Worker Immigration Program has different qualifying criteria than the Federal Skilled Worker Immigration Program. An applicant can include their spouse as well as any dependent children on their application. In fact, under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program, additional points are awarded to applicants with families. To qualify under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program category, skilled worker applicants need to demonstrate their ability to become economically established in Quebec. Read more

Quebec Certificate of Selection (CSQ)

The Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) is a document issued by Quebec Immigration authorities indicating that the person designated on the certificate has been selected to reside in Quebec. The Ministère de l'Immigration et Communautés Culturelles verifies if the immigrant can file an application for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ – Certificat de selection du Quebec) in accordance with the rules, if it is eligible for priority processing and if all required documents are included in your application. Canadian Work Visa

A work visa is considered as a work permit in Canada. A Canadian work permit is issued by officials of the Canadian Government to allow a foreign individual to work at a specific job or for a specific employer. Anyone who does not have a Canadian citizenship or who is not a permanent resident of Canada needs a valid work permit to work in Canada. However, foreign workers may be able to do some jobs in Canada without having a work permit. Read more

Student Visa

Canada continues to be recognized as a provider of world-class education to its more than 130,000 foreign students who come to study in Canada each year with additional students who come to learn English or French within Canada's bilingual borders. The Student visa allows foreigners to engage in further studies in Canada either in an academic or vocational sector, thus bringing their rich culture, expansive knowledge and varied skills to Canada's already diverse classrooms and schools. Foreign applicants must show their intention to study, provide proof of acceptance and enrolment at an accredited institution, proof of sufficient funds and sufficient ties to return to their home country once they have completed their studies. Once granted, a student visa will allow applicants to experience Canada's high-quality education system, state of the art research facilities, and broad post-graduate employment opportunities.
